LYPERANTHUS  (Beak Orchids)

 

If you want to grow terrestrial tubers efficiently then this is the genus to choose. A single narrow angled leaf produces 2 or 3 large egg shaped tubers annually. Easy to grow. Standard soil mix. The flower stalk emerges from the underside of the leaf. The multiple blooms resemble bird’s beaks.

Price includes 3 tubers per variety.

 

Lyperanthus suaveolens  (Brown Beaks) $49.00

Multiplies. Easy to grow and flower. Carries 3-6 green or brown blooms in Sep-Oct. Tubers like pigeon’s eggs.

 

MICROTIS  (Onion Orchids)

 

Plants multiply and are very easy to grow. The multiflowered spike appears suddenly through a split in the side of the hollow onion-like leaf in late Spring. Use standard soil mix. Up to 50 tiny green flowers on tall stems.
