CORYBAS  (Helmet Orchids)

 

Fascinating miniature colony forming terrestrials. Corybas prefer leaf litter at least 10mm thick on top of the soil mix in the pot and shady moist conditions in Winter. They produce a single circular or heart shaped leaf on the leaf litter surface in June/July, a little later than other terrestrials. The maroon coloured flowers follow soon after in July/August. The flowering plants are less than 30mm tall but if pollinated, the seed pod stems grow up to 150mm tall. Price includes 3 tubers per variety.

 

Corybas diemenicus  (Stately Helmet Orchid) $24.00

Reddish flower to 16mm diameter, stand erect clear of leaf. Has beautiful flared, veined and toothed labellum. Multiplies Jul-Aug
