Plant Registrations and Photos

Between 1978 -1988 Adelaide Orchids under the leadership of Syd & Shirley Monkhouse had registered 210 different crosses. Genera involved were Cymbidium, Zygopetalum, Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis and Miltonia.

The record below details all crosses registered by Stephen & Robyn Monkhouse as from 1989. Adelaide Orchids since this date have ventured into a different aspect in the hybridising, growing and marketing of the orchid family. Major improvements so far are the new generation of Zygopetalums, displaying compact growth habit, perfume variety, and colour changes. Improvements in Paphiopedilum alliance in both flower productions, pot plant styles, growth vigour, and colour combinations. Australian Natives are now also being attended to, with improvements to these already beautiful and very popular plants.

Disa orchids are also on the current hybridising program.
